앤 마리는 데뷔 이전 부터 여러 가수들의 노래에 피처링으로 참여하며 커리어를 쌓아가기 시작했다. 그러던 2014년 보컬 자리가 비어있었던 영국의 밴드 루디멘탈에게 앤마리가 눈에 띄게 되며 본격적인 가수 활동을 시작하게 된다. 덕분에 루디멘탈의 앨범 ' We the Generation'의 4곡에 피처링 했으며, 이후 투어 활동에도 참여하며 인지도를 쌓아갔다. 다음 해인 2015년에는 첫 EP'Karate'를 발매 하며 본격적인 데뷔 활동을 시작한다. 

그녀는 허스키한 보이스의 가창력이 특징이다. 넓은 음역대를 부각시키는 곡 보다는 중저음의 탄탄한 사운드에서 높은 음역대로 진행되는 곡 또는 가사전달에 중점을 두는 곡들을 선호한다. 또한 엄청난 가창력의 소유자이다.

 

2016년 5월, 싱글 'Alarm'을 발매했다. 처음에는 큰 주목을 받진 못하였지만 역주행에 성공하며 영국 차트에서 피크 순위 16위를 달성하였다. 같은 해 10월, 피처링으로 참여한 클린 밴딧의 Rockabye가 또 한번 영국 차트에서 9주 1위를 달성하는 엄청난 기록을 세우며 엄청난 인지도를 얻게 된다.
이듬해인 2017년 3월, 'Ciao Adios'가 발매되었다. 영국 차트에서 9위에 올랐으며, 같은 레이블에 소속되어 있는 에드 시런의 'Divide'투어에 참여하며 피처링 가수가 아닌 솔로로서 입지를 쌓아간다.
2018년 2월, Marshmello와 함께 FRIENDS를 발매한다. 영국 차트 4위, 빌보드 핫 100에서 11위를 기록하며 또 다시 흥행에 성공한다.
한 달 뒤인 3월, 데뷔 앨범 Speak Your Mind의 발매를 예고했으며, 에드 시런과 줄리아 마이클스가 참여한 2002이 리드 싱글로 공개되어 영국 차트에서 3위를 기록하였다. [2]
2018년 4월, 예정대로 데뷔 앨범 Speak Your Mind이 발매되었다. 영국 앨범 차트 3위, 빌보드 200에 오르며 데뷔 앨범 흥행에 성공한다.
그러던 와중 국내 주요 차트에서도 2002이 보이기 시작한다. 얼마 지나지 않아 차트 상위권을 차지하며 롱런하다 결국 가온차트와 2019년 멜론 연간 차트 1위를 달성한다. [3] 덕분에 2019년 4월 13일 진행되었던 내한도 성공적으로 마쳤다.
2020년 2월, 해당 여파 덕분에 배철수의 음악캠프 30주년 특집 방송에 게스트로 출연하였다. #
데뷔 앨범의 성공적인 흥행 이후 차기 앨범에 대한 소식이 뜸하다 2021년 7월에 차기 앨범인 Therapy가 발매될 것이라 예고했다. 해당 앨범에 리틀 믹스와 루디멘탈 등 영국에서 유명세 있는 가수들이 피처링에 참여한다는 소식이 알려지며 많은 팬들이 기대하고 있다.
2021년 7월 23일, 드디어 앤 마리의 2집 앨범 Therapy이 발매됐다. 영국 앨범 차트에서 2위를 달성하며 전작 Speak Your Mind의 자체 기록인 3위를 뛰어넘었다. 싱글 차트에서는 리틀 믹스가 피처링에 참여한 'Kiss My(Uh Oh)'가 상위권에 안착하며 성공적인 흥행을 이룰 것으로 보인다.
